Summary of Aluminum Industry Output in China in May

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in May 2026, China's alumina output was 734.7 million tons, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year; the cumulative output for the first five months was 3776.8 million tons, an increase of 3.0% year-on-year.
In May, the output of electrolytic aluminum was 3.89 million tons, up by 1.7% year-on-year; for the first five months, the cumulative output was 19.215 million tons, up by 3.5% year-on-year.
In May, the output of aluminum alloy was 1.591 million tons, a decrease of 2.9% compared to the previous year; for the first five months, the cumulative output was 7.579 million tons, an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period last year.
In May, the aluminum production reached 6.157 million tons, an increase of 5.5% compared to the previous year; for the first five months, the cumulative production was 26.963 million tons, a decrease of 0.4% compared to the same period last year.
