Since the beginning of this year, while maintaining a consistently high proportion of high value-added aluminum products and consolidating the existing market advantages, Yuefeng New Materials Company has focused on the research and production of high value-added aluminum alloy products. They successfully trial-produced high-quality aluminum alloy round ingots for 2A12 aluminum alloy and A356 hub applications, promoting the continuous optimization of the aluminum product structure and further facilitating the upgrading of manufacturing materials in the automotive and aviation sectors.
 
As a 2000 series (Al-Cu-Mg) high-strength hard aluminum alloy clearly stipulated in the national standard GB/T 3190, 2A12 aluminum alloy, with its excellent strength, corrosion resistance and processing performance, has become an indispensable classic structural material in the aerospace field, and is widely used in key components such as aircraft skins and wing spars. During the product trial production process, the technicians strictly controlled the procurement of raw materials and auxiliary materials to ensure that the raw material purity met the standards; they optimized the selection of refining agents, precisely matching the parameter relationships between cooling water temperature, casting temperature and cooling intensity. At the same time, they scientifically determined the pre-slag melting parameters, systematically analyzed the influence of cooling water flow rate, water temperature, casting speed and temperature on the structure of the ingot, and formulated targeted control measures for potential defects such as porosity, cracks and inclusions, ensuring the quality of the ingot.
 
The high-quality aluminum ingot used for the A356 hub is the core raw material for automotive cast aluminum wheels. The precise control of its composition and the low content of impurities directly determine the load-bearing capacity, wear resistance and service life of the automotive hub. To meet the strict requirements of the automotive industry for hub materials, the technical team conducted in-depth research on the impact of alloy composition on product performance. Through numerous experiments, they optimized the alloy ratio and finally determined a scientifically reasonable range of composition control. In the production process, an innovative dual-tube refining process was adopted, and the online degassing and decontamination process of the molten material was optimized. The internal structure of the ingot was refined, and the test process parameters were optimized to further ensure the stability of the surface quality, internal structure and mechanical properties of the ingot.
 
After the trial production was completed, the Yufeng technical team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the two products. The results showed that all performance indicators fully met the relevant national standards and industry application requirements. Currently, the two products have been successfully delivered for trial use by domestic automotive air conditioning and structural component manufacturing enterprises.
