New Zealand initiates safeguard measures investigation into aluminium profiles

On May 28, 2026, the WTO Safeguard Measures Committee released the safeguard measures notification submitted by the New Zealand delegation to it. The Ministry of Commerce, Innovation and Employment of New Zealand initiated a safeguard measures investigation against imported aluminium profiles (Certain Aluminium Extrusion Products). The involved products are aluminium profiles produced through extrusion technology, falling under New Zealand tax codes 7604.21.00 00b and 7604.29.09 00f. Australia and Singapore were excluded from this investigation as they have trade agreements with New Zealand.
